Kurt Vonnegut would have turned 90 today would that he were still with us. There was a time in my life when I read whatever he wrote. My favorite book was “God Bless You Mr. Rosewater” and “Player Piano” a close second. My favorite character was a recurring character named Kilgore Trout. Kilgore was a writer who made cameo appearances in many of Kurt’s books. I always assumed that the titles Kurt ascribed to Kilgore were titles Kurt toyed with himself but decided against. My Kilgore Trout is an x-therapist turned author named Asoph Saylor who wrote “The Real McGoo”, a book I toyed with writing but found it too difficult. He first appeared in “Why Me?” and then again in “Why Bristol?”

So to Kurt, thanks for the words and thanks for Asoph.
