Research at the Museum of the Cherokee Indian

photo-4That’s 89 year old Jerry Wolf.  He’s the elder statesman at the Cherokee Indian Museum in Cherokee, NC.  Jerry agreed to spend an hour with me last Friday as I did research on my next novel, “Jasper Lilla and the Wolves of Damascus.”  (That’s a working title and subject to change)  Jasper, the protagonist, is a 16 year old sophomore from Watauga High School in Boone, NC.  When Jasper finds a wolf’s tooth talisman, he discovers some gifts he doesn’t understand so he goes to the Cherokee Museum for answers.  Jasper will hear stories about the Nicotani, a now extinct priestly clan and the invisible warriors from the Franklin mound.  Jerry Wolf helped me with both those legends and more.  Thanks Jerry.
